Thai Banks Now Offer Real-Time Fund Transfers Online

Posted on May 26th, 2008

Online banking has been available to users for quite some time now, however, it is only recently that users were provided with a feature to transfer funds from one bank to another - something that has been available through ATMs for a long time now.

Five Thailand banks now offer the service to transfer funds in real-time to certain banks. These banks are Bangkok Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Kasikorn Bank, TMB Bank, and Siam Commercial Bank. Customers of these mentioned banks can now transfer funds to these other banks in real time over the Internet and do not have to head to an ATM to do so.

Before, money transfers using the Internet could only be done if the other bank account was held in the same bank. If the other account belonged to another bank, the person either had to personally visit the bank office or transact it through an ATM. With this service now available, users do not have to go out and look for an ATM. They can now do it without leaving their home or office.

Hey, Hotdog_addict, how's your country doing in this current crisis? My wife and I are employing a Filipina maid who's helping us take care of our son. We're having financial difficulties, but we intend to keep her because we just can't do without her. I know some people though who've already let go of their helpers. I bet this has a huge impact on your economy.

I admire Thailand for the progress it's making in business and banking. I hope it's the same here in the Philippines! I think my country is better at weathering financial storms though, because it's got lots of money coming in from workers abroad.
