BIS: World-Wide Banking Activity High

Banking activities around the world has increased by the end of the fourth quarter of 2007, as Asian, African, and Middle Eastern nations' economy become more active.

The Bank of International Settlements (BIS) said that the activity in the international banking market continued to expand by the end of 2007.

According to their report, there has been a very significant increase in banking transactions, thanks to emerging markets. Inter-bank borrowing has also increased. Both borrowing and deposits to banks around the world has increased.

    Good news, overall. More banking activity means more people are willing to save and withdraw money, so there is cash movement. Unless the activity is all credits, in which case, it can be bad.

    An increase in internet banking activity is a main contributor to this. Internet payment portals such as Paypal have made banking activities around the world increase. this can only be good.
